RUNTIME: 1 hour, 13 minutes

Instructor, Class: Recorded Mar 11, 2019

The Potential of the 10 Step Value Scale. With a quick refresher of the vocabulary of light on form, we jump into exploring the importance of building a value plan in a painting and the role it plays in design. By using the "1/3, 2/3, little bit" proportion guidelines, this can bring a start to the building of solid design through dark values and light values. Examining master artworks and dissecting their value structure should help bring to light an essential tool for designing. View some video stills here.
